BCAFMA History

1976 – Butler County FM TEAM Officers of the newly formed Butler County Amateur FM Association grouped around the repeater at Mashuda corporation tower in Cranberry Township. Shown from left are Jim Wood Sr. of Cranberry, trustee; Charles Bagley (kneeling) of Cranberry, President; Bob Kalan, Treasurer; Hazel Winrader of Butler, secretary, and Terry Wood of Cranberry, vice president.

1992 – Mashuda’s tower was taken down and the repeater was moved to the VIP Drive towers (behind Tbone’s Plaza I79 North – Wexford Exit)

2023 – The 147.240 repeater has developed an antenna problem and has some coverage issues. The 443.700 repeater is burned up and off the air. We would like to restore the 147.240 analog FM repeater to it’s former glory and install a DMR repeater on our 443.700 frequency pair to cover Northern Allegheny, Southern Butler and Eastern Beaver Counties. Please consider joining and contributing. Download and fill out our membership form and return it to Aaron AC3DB or bring it to the next dinner meeting.

Donate your old ham radio equipment! We would like to gather up some ham equipment to be loaned to new hams and students within our club to get them started in ham radio. If you have any handhelds, vhf or dual band radios, hf radios, antennas, coax or power supplies that you can donate, bring them to the next dinner meeting.
